Elizabeth Stiving-Nichols, Allied ASID

Liz grew up on a farm in southern Ohio and pays homage to her roots with a love of organic elements and the thoughtful art of layering of textures and styles. Her work has been described as clean, modern coastal, rooted in classic design principals.

After receiving her BFA in Interior Design from Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago, Liz moved to Martha’s Vineyard and began her design career spending the next 7 years working as an Interior Designer with Hutker Architects. As young designer invested in learning, working among many talented architects is where she gained her appreciation and respect for their craft and the importance of successful collaboration between an architect and interior designer.
“When there is a strong synergy between the design teams, amazing things are created."

Liz started Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design in 2010 and opened a Lifestyle boutique, "Bespoke Abode," shortly after.   She now leads the design team as Design Director.

Named a “New Trad: Rising Star of Designby Traditional Home Magazine, a recipient of New England Home Magazine’s 5 Under 40 Award for design excellence, as well as being named one of the Fresh Faces of Design by HGTV; Liz’s work has been recognized by the Regional and National Design Community.  Her work also earned an award at the International Architecture and Design Awards in London, England.

While Liz calls Martha’s Vineyard home, her portfolio of work includes Cape Cod, Boston, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Bluffton and Hilton Head, SC.
She currently lives in Oak Bluffs with her husband Kevan and daughter Phoebe.

"We feel it is a true privilege to assist in creating the spaces our clients call home. Home is where we often long to be, feel most comfortable, and where one’s style is most evident. We take our role seriously, but always find the fun in the process."

Lauren Comley

Lauren is from upstate New York, but upon arriving in New England, she knew she’d found her place.

She received an Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and an Associate’s degree in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Both areas of study play a huge role in how she views design as well as the skills earned to successfully complete them.

Lauren has honed her skill of developing drawings and details of built-ins, cabinetry, and trim work, and views these as essential in a well designed interior.

Lauren learned a great deal while working with the integrated Architecture and Construction firm PSD in Chatham, MA. and it was there that she began her high-end residential design career. Eventually moving on to SV Design, as well as working with a small firm on Nantucket, Lauren found her way to Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design and quickly took over the design and project Management role in both high-end residential and commercial projects.

With the coastline being a strong source of design inspiration, Lauren describes her aesthetic as curated coastal and is known to develop beautiful and well planned interiors using textures and patterns.

She loves collaborating with her fellow designers in the MVID office and bringing projects to life.
Lauren lives in Sandwich with her husband and son.
